Tree Service Scam Operating in Billerica3/10/10 - Please be aware that a “tree service” scam operation has been operating in Billerica. A group of men posing as tree cutters have been working their scam throughout Middlesex County/Southern NH. Typically they operate in a way that distracts the homeowner while a second suspect enters their house and burglarizes the home. If anyone comes to your home asking you to step outside to inspect some trees that they will be cutting down please call Billerica Police. While they often pose as tree cutters keep in mind that their scam could involve any story that may distract you. These men have most often been seen operating an extended cab, full size white pickup truck with Maine license plates.

Cable Solicitors3/4/10 - Billerica residents should be aware that solicitors for cable TV service are in the Billerica area. There have been reports of solicitors asking to come into homes to check on cable equipment, please use caution and do not let solicitors into your home. Legitimate solicitors should have a picture ID issued by the Billerica Police department, photos of registered solicitors are available for viewing below.
Richdale Convenient Store Burglary
2/26/10 - On Thursday, 2/25/10 at 0211 hours, Billerica Police responded to the Richdale Convenient store for a commercial alarm. The store is located at 161 Boston Rd in N. Billerica at the corner of Chelmsford Rd (129) and Boston Rd (3A). The thief threw a rock through the front window, entered the store and stole a few cartons of cigarettes and some rolled coins. The suspect dislodged a camera while moving behind the counter. A Rubbermaid-type trash can was used to collect the stolen goods. Burglary is similar to an incident which occurred in Chelmsford recently. Please call the Billerica Police at (978) 667-1212 if you have any information that may help solve this crime.
